Minecraft robots wreak havoc on – well, whatever they want to! Using a tinker table, power suit parts and slime, piston engines and Redstone blocks, players can now create their own Iron-man inspired mechanical suits.

Minecraft is a building game, where players begin small with basic tools. Mining helps them to find more different minerals and rare commodities which, when combined correctly, help them to create alloys and more complex tools. Players can build villages and castles – some have even reacted their own home towns in the unique blocky squares – or raise pigs or sheep. Wolves will try and steal the animals, while creepers (tall green stealthy beings, invented by accident (the designer was trying to code a pig mob, when a coding error produced the creeper – now the most famous Minecraft character) will creep up on players and explode. Depending on the difficulty level, players can choose to focus on either the action part of the game or the building side.

When a player has worked to gain a crafting table by joining together four blocks of wood, he or she can begin crafting more complicated items. To gain a power-suit, the player will need this power-suit mod and a rather upgraded crafting table known, in the mod, as a tinker table. Once each component of the power suit is collected or created, the player can see what uses and powers the suit part will have, and use the tinker table to add to it.

Once the suit is built, the player can tower over their environment, crushing enemies under their feet, nuking enemy villages and easily repelling creeper attacks. Inside the suit are an array of controls which must be manually activated. Each one unleashes a different powerful weapon. This mod adds greatly to the action side of the game, allowing it to become quite violent, if that is what the player likes.

Pros

  • An action-packed addition to the potentially calm and peaceful building game
  • Great for fans of Iron-man and similar characters
  • Creates a massive robot to play and fight on the player's side!

Cons

  • Not entirely 'plug and play' – the settings must be manually tweaked in the display to the right of the modules and inexperienced players may become frustrated
